This Privacy Policy explains how MusicGrooveLab ("we", "us", the "App") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application. By using MusicGrooveLab, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

• Account information: your email address, display name, and — if you sign in with Google — your Google account name, email, and profile photo.
• Profile information: a display name, optional bio, optional profile photo, and whether you joined as an Artist or a Listener.
• Content you upload (Artists): the audio files, album/track titles, cover art, and genre you choose to publish.
• Activity data: songs you play, like, dislike, comment on, playlists you create, artists you follow, and your recently played history.
• Verification data: if you request an artist verification badge, the information you submit (such as your real name and social media links).

How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account and profile.
• To let you stream, upload, share, and discover music.
• To power features such as playlists, following, likes, comments, charts, and recently played.
• To review artist verification requests.
• To help keep the platform legal and original by checking uploads for copyrighted or duplicate audio.
• To operate, maintain, and improve the App.

Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to run the App:

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Storage) to sign you in and to store your account, profile, content, and activity data. See Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
• Google Sign-In for optional sign-in with your Google account.
• ACRCloud — when you upload a track, a short audio sample may be sent to ACRCloud's music-recognition service to detect copyrighted or stolen music. See acrcloud.com/privacy-policy.

How Your Information Is Shared

• Content you publish (uploaded music, album/track details, cover art, your artist name) and public activity (comments, follower and play counts) are visible to other users of the App.
• Your profile photo and display name are shown alongside your content and comments.
• We do not sell your personal information.

Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Menu → Settings → Delete account inside the App. Deleting your account removes your profile, uploaded tracks, albums, and playlists, and your login. Some information may remain in backups for a limited period before being fully removed.

Security

Your data is stored on Google Firebase's secure servers. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Children's Privacy

MusicGrooveLab is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

Your Rights

You can access and update your profile information in the App, and you can delete your account and associated data at any time. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights over your personal data; contact us to exercise them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
